Highway To Hell - Route 666

There are a lot of stories about "Route 666" (sign of Antichrist) which runs north-south through the states of New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. One of them speaks of a young girl who appears along the desolate road. Most drivers would stop to offer her help seeing as there is nothing for miles, but when they do, the girl vanishes into the air.

Others claim to see demon dogs running along the car no matter the speed of the car, they are supposed to have yellow eyes and sharp teeth and try to scare the drivers and cause a car crash. Some report apparition of a demon passenger in their back seat trying to steal their souls. Or a "Satan car", which is supposed to be black sedan, speeding behind them, reaching them no matter how powerful their own car is, sparkles coming out of that car.

There are not only apparitions along the road, many vanished whilst taking this highway. Those people appeared later on after few hours, or days with no recollection what they have been doing or where they have been.

These satanic connotations along with the high number of fatal accidents along the road make this road one of the scariest one to take. What needs to be mentioned is that after much public pressure and the renaming of the "Route 666" to "Route 491" in 2003, the number of the fatal accidents has substantially decreased.
