Montana
Montana is a state in the Western United States. It has several nicknames, including: "The Treasure State" and "Big Sky Country", and slogans that include "Land of the Shining Mountains" and more recently, "The Last Best Place". The state ranks fourth in area, but 44th in population, and accordingly has the third-lowest population density in the United States. It is the 41st US State; admitted into the Union November 8, 1889. To the north, Montana shares borders with three Canadian provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. To the east is North Dakota and South Dakota. To the south lies Wyoming and to the west and southwest is Idaho. Helena is the state capital. Other major cities are Billings, Missoula, Great Falls, Bozeman, Butte-Silver Bow, Kalispell, Havre, Anaconda-Deer Lodge County, and Miles City.
