Sri Lankan Civil War
Sri Lankan Civil War was a conflict fought on the island of Sri Lanka. It was long conflict between Tamil Tiger (LTTE) rebels and the government(July 1983-May 2009). Tamil Tigers aimed to create an independent Tamil state in the north and the east of the island. The conflict lasted 26 years and the UN estimates that between 80,000 and 100,000 people were killed in the civil war.
