Erektophobie als Umkehrung der Impotenzangst.
Der Anblick des männlichen Gliedes löst im Normalfall Zuneigung und Bewunderung aus, in pathologischem Fall jedoch ganz andere Emotionen: Ekel, Abneigung, Neid, Angst. Diese negative Affekte werden auf die ganze Person übertragen und erzeugen Feindseligkeit, die sowohl zwischen Männer als auch zwischen Frauen weit verbreitet ist. Auf diese Weise kommt es vor, daß die ganze Gesellschaft von Feindbilder und Männerhaß sowie, infolge der Reaktionsbildung, Frauenhaß erfasst wird. Der Ursprung solches pathologischen psychosozialen Zustandes sind die Personen, die von Impotenz und Frigidität betroffen sind, und ihre Ängste bzw. Ausfälle in die Öffentlichkeit tragen, dort verbreiten und als allgemeingultige geltend machen. In solcher, von den Psychopathen veränderten Gesellschaft dominieren vorgetäuschte Lustgefühle, während gegenseitige Agressionen und Schuldzuweisungen echt, d.h. nicht vorgetäuscht sind.

Erektomanie ist begrifflicher Gegensatz zu Erektophobie, und umschreibt disfunktionelle Übersteigerung erektieler Funktion. Psychoanalytisch erklärt sich Erektomanie in Überbesetzung der Repräsentation der Sexualorgane durch Sexualenergie (Libido), was aufgrund der Notwendigkeit, diese Überbesetzung und Überfluß bzw. Überspannung zu reduzieren und zu kanalisieren, in hyperlibidöser Übertragung auf andere Tätigkeiten und Objekte resultiert, die als Ersatzobjekte sexueller Betätigung genutzt werden und zur Befriedigung der Lust dienen. Solches Unfunktionieren und die Umwertung der Objektrepräsentanzen zu Lustobjekten manifestiert sich in manischem Begehren von Sportler, Phantombilder, Sachen, Tieren, Pop-Idole und Körperteilen. Zu bekannten Formen der Erektomanie gehören Sexsucht (auch als Sexoholism bezeichnet, einschließlich übermäßige Masturbation, Promiskuität, Nymphomanie), Exhibitionismus, Voyeurismus, Nachstellung (einschließlich Mobing), Paraphilie (u.a. Fetischismus, Fanatismus (u.a. sportlicher, religiöser, politischer), Konsumzwang, Spielsucht, Zoophilie), Päderastie. Das Verhalten der Personen, die von Erektomanie betroffen sind erklärt sich durch emotionale und Triebüberflutung, was zu Denkblockaden führt, und eine rationale Bewertung eigenes Verhaltens (Einsicht) sowie Selbstregulierung unmöglich macht. Die Behandlung von Erektomanie besteht in der Wiederherstellung des Urteilsvermögens und der Selbstregulierung, was mit psychoanalytischen gesprächstherapeutischen Verfahren und mit Intellektualisierung erreicht wird.

After triumphal entry into Jerusalem (celebrated annually on Palm Sunday), Jesus arrives at the Temple and finds that it is being used for selling everything from weapons to prostitutes and drugs. He is furious and demands that the merchants and money changers leave the temple. Angry, disconsolate, and tired by his burden, Jesus wanders off but is confronted by lepers, cripples, and beggars, all wanting to be healed. Even though he heals some, their number increases, and he is overwhelmed. Unable to solve everyone's problems, Jesus tells the crowd to heal themselves.
The narrative of Jesus driving the moneychangers from the Temple is a metaphor standing for self-enlightenment: It is an incitation for everyone to focus on the essential, to rid oneself of needless and superfluous things and thoughts, and to perform such self-cleaning permanently.
Furthermore, the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gives a wedding feast for his son (Matthew 22:2), and wedding resembles high time, defined as a long-awaited event, an appropriate time, or past the appropriate time, i.e. the time beyond the proper time but before it is too late, none too soon: Do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep (Romans 13:11).
