Arkansas, affectionately known as "The Land of Opportunity" or "The Natural State," is a state located in the southern region of the United States. It shares a border with Missouri on the North; East with Tennessee, Mississippi; South with Louisiana; West with Texas, Oklahoma; with its eastern border largely defined by the Mississippi River. The capital and most populous city is Little Rock. Other major cities are Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Springdale, and Jonesboro. Arkansas is the 25th US State and was admitted June 15, 1836 into the Union.
