Class B

An amplifier operating with the grid bias adjusted so plate current flows for right at 180 degrees, by biassing the tube right at cutoff. The distortion is higher than class A or class AB, and there is usually a large amount of crossover distortion, but the efficiency is higher than class AB, allowing more output power for a given plate dissipation.
