Dan Roundfield
Dan Roundfield (May 26, 1953 – August 6, 2012) was a former American professional basketball player. Roundfield began his career with the Indiana Pacers, who were then in the American Association of Basketball. He went on to play with the Atlanta Hawks for six seasons. At a height of 6'8", he became a three-time NBA All Star center/forward. On the collegiate front, Roundfield was twice selected in All-Mid-American Conference Team for Uiversity ofCentral Michigan ; he was also the 1975 M.A.C. Player of the Year.
Dan Roundfield tragically died off the coast of Aruba on August 6, 2012 while trying to save his wife from choppy waters when they were on holidays in Aruba. Roundfield managed to save his wife before being swept out to sea.
