Google Glass
A head-mounted display (HMD) device developed by Google that incorporates augmented reality and takes on the form of an ordinary pair of eye glasses. The device displays information in a smartphone-like format hands-free and potentially offers a wide variety of capacities, such as identifying people based on clothing they wear, recording what the person sees live, and interacting with the Internet via natural language voice commands.
Developed through Google's Project Glass research and development program, the glass is powered by Google's Android operating system and can take on many different style frames and lenses.
The first version of Google Glass was scheduled for release at the end of 2013. Google Glass ceased production in its present form in 2015.
