Autobiografske beleške života američkih robova. Ovi radovi su se prvi put pojavili tokom pokreta ukidanja ropstva tokom 1830-ih do 1850-ih godina. Primeri ropskog narativa su autobiografija Olaude Ekvijana, takođe poznatog kao Gustav Vasa, i "Događaji iz života jedne mlade ropkinje" Harijet Džejkobs.
